Summary of Scaredy Man
Scaredy Man is afraid of everything: of people cutting in line at the bakery (he doesn't dare say anything), of wearing his floral trousers (they'll probably laugh at him), and of strange noises at night (there's surely a ghost under his bed). He makes an appointment with the magic tree that helps scared people overcome their fears.
The tree does warn him about the fierce creatures he will encounter on his journey – but he doesn't need to be afraid of them, as they are not dangerous. Thanks to the warning, he braves dragons, gigantic spiders, and scary witches. Once he reaches the magic tree, he is immediately promoted from a Scaredy Man to a Quite Brave Man.
Satisfied, he goes home. He puts on his floral trousers, goes to the bakery, and orders two cakes: one for himself and one for the ghost under his bed.
