The book first begins with an educational piece about the topic. Here you'll also find the cardboard flashlight. Then, a story with bolded words begins. These bolded words are illustrated at the bottom of the page.

The right-hand page is still dark, but if you place the flashlight behind it, a beam of light appears, just like the real thing! With the flashlight, you can search together for the illustrated bolded words. This way, you can read a book interactively together.
