Rat returns from a long journey. He has brought a present for Frog.
It looks just like an onion…
‘Can I eat it?’ asks Frog.
‘No,’ says Rat, ‘it’s a bulb. If you plant it now, you’ll get a surprise in spring.’
Frog thinks he has to wait a very long time. But then, a small green tip finally appears above the ground...
The tip grows larger and leaves appear.
On a beautiful spring day, Frog's friends come to see the surprise.
Rat claps his hands. 'It has become a beautiful tulip!'
Frog sighs contentedly. 'Beautiful, isn't it! I took good care of it.'
